A Fresh Start [open]

An new morning and a day full of new opportunities. Gabe had just found out something insane. He had somehow or another gained super powers. Like one of the comic book super heroes. He discovered this the other day while playing Halo. When suddenly his room was like area inside the TV. It panicked him when an alien of the Covenant had a blaster to his face, and when he panicked things vanished, but the cat was already out of the bag.

The rest of the night he spent his time trying to re create what had happened. He learned he could project images, and sounds with a mere thought. Then, he the wondered about physical sensations; he then found himself spending the night with his favorite porn star. Needless to say he was quite pleased with his new found talent.

He woke up the next morning, took a shower in cold water which he made feel warm. and got ready for a day of experimentation. He looked into the mirror, and changed his image. If he messed up he didn't want people knowing who he was.

He left his crappy studio apartment and made his way to the drug store down the street. He had money on him but he wanted to see if he could get away with not using real money. So he got himself a few bags of chips, a candy bar and the biggest soda he could get from their fountain and went up to the counter. He focused on what he wanted. He wanted the man at the counter to see Gabe giving him the money, hear Gabe say thank you and feel the money in his hands.

The cashier rung him up took the money he was given, and handed the man his change. Gabe was astonished he hadn't accounted for change. He had just gotten chips candy and soda. and didn't pay a cent in fact he was given more money than he already had. So he walked out of the store feeling a little guilty, he had just robbed the drug store. But before he could figure out just exactly what he should do next he hear footsteps. His heart rose in his chest. had he been caught. 'Oh shit!' He thought to himself.

[Adonis]

It had taken Adonis quite a while to figure out the way to get food in this strange, two-legged world. All the humans, with their stupidly short amount of fur and wearing hides instead of just growing it longer. Standing on two legs, like the primates in the zoo, just...not exactly bigger, but more everywhere. Of course, he had been watching them back home, when he'd checked on his pack, watching as they went about their business. And they always had food, delicious smelling food, which they'd eat while they gawped at him and the others, and while the pubs tried to climb over the bars to join them, or ran around screaming. Animals, the lot of them.

Of course, he guessed he was now one of them. What with the two legs, and the lack of furr and reducing of sight and smell abilities...and the shorter teeth and odd jaw. How human's were meant to bite into their food hard enough to tear it off, he'd never find out. His teeth were slightly longer, he'd realised, after finding one of the little underground den-like crapping-holes, with glass that reflected back at him. He'd stood their for hours earlier, simply staring at himself, contenting to only growl, and one snap, at the males who'd pass and mutter at him for being a freak.

The sun had still been rising, nearing the point where it was highest in the sky, when he'd emerged above ground again, immediently hissing and raising one odd paw to cover his now oddly sensitive eyes. A few staggering steps, and then he'd been as good as new, only having to squint for a little longer after that to get his eyesight back to playing nice. And then he'd scented the food, and it had made his stomach growl in the way that, back in the zoo, meant kicking the youngsters away from what was left of the feed and helping himself.

But he couldn't really do that here, could he? He was wary of all their two legs. They moved around in giant metal beetles they had designated into doing their bidding, and talked into tiny boxes held up against their heads. And all wore odd pelts, unnatural things...and this jungle stank, of cold and grey and concrete...and food. He was still an animal. Adonis couldn't deny the call off food, especially when it had just exited one of the pens a little ahead of him.

Like prey.

He wasn't a wild creature. He didn't know how to hunt, had never needed to know, but some of it was instinctual. He tucked his head down, moving into a rolling, prowling gate, following his noes and the male now in front of him - the one that smelt odd, come to think of it, but Adonis wasn't concentrating on that. He was just focussed on the food.

Gabe turned, expecting to see the store clerk coming after him, but didn't see anything at first then he saw the man on the ground, walking with an animal like gait. You didn't get a reputation as a nerd without at least knowing a little about biology, and this man look like a beast ready to attack.

Gabe had to think fast, he didn't have time to try and figure out why this man was acting this way. It was so odd so 'alien'. Yet not, the man seemed ... like he was in his own element, even though he was acting like a dog.

What Gabe did is he froze his image. and moved to the side to see what would happen. To the man it would be as if he had turned and was frozen with confusion. would even hear him breathing, however Gabe was unaware of the mans sense of smell. So while the image was stationary his scent was not.

Gabe could see a transparent version of the illusion. so he would know what the man wanted if he attacked the image. And Gabe was ready to run as fast as he could if he learned he was in danger. As he watched he made his way around thr loony man so that he could avoid confrontation either way.
