everleigh maxine rhodes quiet, independent, cautious
Full Name: Everleigh Maxine Rhodes Alias: Evie, Ev, Max Age: Eighteen Date of Birth: October 11th, 1992 Ethnicity: English Religion: Athiest Orientation: Straight Occupation: Student, part-time waitress
Face Claim: Fonseca, Lyndsy
Power: Electric manipulation
Power/Personality Relation: When the freak storm hit, Everleigh acquired the ability to manipulate, absorb and generate electrical fields. Heavy caution comes with it though, she has to make sure to keep in control when there is water around and even metal - one wave of current she passes through to a metal railing could shock and hurt every other person touching it. When emotions run high she finds herself unable to control the crackle of energy at her fingertips or flickering of electronics around her. And because of this, Everleigh removes herself from situations which might make her seem isolated to others when really, she just doesn't want to hurt anyone - or herself for that matter. She used to be afraid of being close to someone physically in case of hurting them although now knows that so long as she's under control and calm, there's no problem in a friend hug or shake of the hands. It's not just cause of emotions though, of course she uses her power at will although sometimes feels a little bad when she does, almost feeling like she's cheating. For example, when a tv connection is bad, a simple tap on the screen can make it high quality. Her phone and iPod won't ever go out of battery completely so long as she's holding it - so her power has it's perks. Although there are complications if she ends up in hospital as the machinery there can go a little hay wire when hooked up to her. She's always cautious, afraid of her own powers and has yet to see what she can produce at her powers extent.
Personality: Quiet -- She has always been an introvert, a listener rather than a talker. Everleigh doesn't like drawing attention to herself and doesn't mind being an observer rather than participant of situations. Evie also finds it a little difficult to approach people, making her somewhat shy. However she isn't awkward around people; it just takes a while for her to relax around people.
Independent -- Evie has always been able to be on her own without desperatly needing the company of anyone else, but ever since the storm, Evie has been more independent that ever. She fears getting close to anyone in case of loosing control of her powers therefore felt that she had to be independent. Even so, she does get lonely at times. After all, everyone needs a friend now and then, especially in Everleigh's case. Who knows when independent might accidentally turn into hostile?
Artistic -- A sketch pad and pencil are on Evie at all time. Drawing and painting are releases for her, seeing as she needs to calm herself whenever any strong, negative emotion is felt. It's been a hobby of hers since she was young, from when she used to make splodgy paint splatters and wobbly lines up now still, where she's producing more skilled lines and realistic tones.
Mature -- Even at a younger age, Everleigh's always been mature. People sometimes think she is older than she really is. She never involved herself with teenage things like going out drinking or rebelling at school because it would make her 'cooler'. When it comes to her power she is more mature than ever, understanding the faults with it and almost seeing it more as a curse than blessing. She understands how she could accidentally hurt someone and it terrifies her.

History: Evie was born to Mitchell and Caroline Rhodes, the youngest child of the Rhodes family. Lower class, Everleigh was bought up without as much luxuries as others her age, although never cared for materialistic things anyway. Art was always her luxury, loving to be creative and get involved with finger painting rather than sit at home playing the latest toy. Evie only had a handful of friends at both primary and high school. Even so, she never considered any of them 'best friends'. In fact, most of her school life she spent on her own, or in the computer department helping out. Technical stuff was always a forte for Evie, although she wouldn’t say she enjoyed it, she did have a knack for making things work when people had problems with electrical stuff – though all credit for that goes to her dad who taught her everything she knows about electronics.
Other than that, school life for Evie was just average. There was nothing more to say – she woke up every day, she went to school, she’d attend classes, eat her lunch, hang out with a bunch of computers, go to her last lesson and head home. She wasn’t popular, didn’t really stick out, wasn’t bullied at all or the top of her class. The same went for her life in general. Everleigh was just an average teenage girl living with her parents in London, attending her local college and working part time at a scruffy café as a waitress to help try and build a university fund for next year. She was just ordinary. Until the storm hit.
She was walking back from college when the storm hit, plugged into her iPod as per usual and minding her own business. Then she noticed an odd cloud - apparently out of nowhere - looming over her like a hideous shadow. Suddenly, giant pellets of ice started falling from it like gunshots. There wasn’t a place to run for cover, no one else around as she walked through a vacant warehouse car park (her usual shortcut when coming home). She still had hear headphones in when the lightning hit her, running through the wire, straight through her ears, conducting with the metal watch around her wrist and mobile phone, the the current running through her entire body as she hit the ground.
Evie woke up, who knows how many hours later. Her head ached like hell but otherwise she felt…oddly different but at the same time, perfectly fine. Her phone and iPod were frazzled, practically burnt and smoking slightly. It took a while for her to wonder why on earth she wasn’t… well… dead. Going home wasn’t great. Her parents were as worried as hell but instead of freaking them out by telling them she’d been hit by lightning, Evie made up a story that she’d gone to a friend’s house until the storm had passed before coming home. Later that night she realized something was very, very different. First it was a little thing. The strange feeling as if something was flowing through her whenever she plugged something into a wall socket. The way whenever she got a little irritated, the lights dimmed slightly, only returning to their normal state once she had calmed. She tried to ignore all that though, and only fully came into realization when she accidentally…killed a bird. Unintentionally of course! She had been walking to work, running her hands along the rails of a metal fence and had unknowingly started running a current through it. A small bird flew past her, towards the fence with intentions to fly through the bars when—bam! Accidental murder of a helpless animal. Evie had no idea what to do. Other than run.
It took a good few days for her to process her new power, at first denying it completely. First of all, it was impossible. A power? No, that was comic books and fairy tales. She even went as far as going into the hospital, see if they could do anything. Maybe it was left over electricity from when she got hit? That could be possible, surely? But the minute she stepped foot in there she realized she couldn’t. What if they treated her like some kind of guinea pig, freak of natural – quite literally? Evie then started to experiment, she what she could do, in consideration to safety though. So far she knows she can create and manipulate electricity by means of touch. Evie doesn’t know her limits, although is very aware of her vulnerability to water – seeing as it’s just general knowledge to never mix the two. However she can shower without… electrocuting herself and drink liquids, but is always very careful. God knows that this power is hardly benefiting Evie and is in fact making her even quieter than she was before. After all, who the hell can you turn to when you’ve been struck by lightning and have some kind of superhero!?
