Power: Telepathy. Paul has the ability to enter people's minds, and read their thoughts, emotions, and desires; even the ones deeply buried. He can also speak to people through telepathy. If he has entered someone's mind before, he can speak to them without being near them - but he must be relatively near the subject in order to read their minds.

He cannot, no matter how hard he tries, influence the minds of others, or control them.

Power/Personality Relation: His power mirrors his chosen profession and his personality. Before the storm, Paul was a psychiatrist, delving into people's minds in order to understand them, and, supposedly, to help them. In reality, he enjoyed the sense of power and control he gained over those he understood. He had been pacing through the streets of London, brooding over his knowledge of the secrets of others, he was struck by lightning, and his telepathy began to manifest itself.

He soon abandoned his job, and went out on his own; he spent days just wandering through London, entering the minds of others, and learning their secrets.

Personality: Paul is a nihilist and an assiduous reader of Nietzsche. He does not believe in morality, or the laws of society, believing that they oppress the natural instincts of humanity. After the storm gave him his power, he began to think of himself as what Nietzsche would call the "Overman", or the next step after humanity. He believes in this so passionately, that he has begun to treat humans as less than himself.

He is often quiet, but his mind is open. If you're talking to him, his eyes will probably lose focus - that means he's not listening to you, but is inside your mind, looking at your thoughts. That's all.

Although an atheist, he constantly refers to God as a kind of taunt. He uses the phrase that Nietzsche first said, that "God is dead". The Christian and Jewish moral codes are to him signs of weakness. If you claim that religion is good, or true, or worthwhile, he'll laugh at you.

Paul often treats others as children, merely because of his belief that he is greater than others. But he knows about the others with powers - he's been observing the minds of those he passes in the streets. He knows that a new age is coming. And he's planning to rise to power when it comes.

History:
Paul was born to a middle-class family in London, and had a commonplace childhood; the oldest child of three, he went to a private school, and graduated near the top of his class.

Early on in his life, he discovered a love of knowledge - specifically, the knowledge of the secrets of others. He loved to find out the things that his siblings or parents had done, and reveled in the sense of power that it bestowed. He became an accredited psychiatrist partly to help those who suffered from disorders (to "fix" them, as he would privately refer to it), but also partly to gain that sense of power once again.

When the storm gave him the power of telepathy, he set about to gain power over others through his knowledge of their deepest secrets. Paul currently is running a lucrative blackmailing ring, but intends to take over the world. Of course.
