ROLEPLAYING RULES
Always remember... When roleplaying, you must always take into account your actions and what they mean to the person who you are roleplaying with. In fighting especially, before you post think to yourself - how would i feel if the other person did these actions towards my character? - and then should you find they are unjust or unfair, don't go ahead with them. By all means attack or be rude to other characters (though not players) but don't for instance - kill them without the other players permission. Anyhow - on to the rules!
- 1. Keep your characters personality and history realistic
We don't want any mary sues or other perfect characters here. Everyone has flaws. Don't take those flaws too far though, we want the characters to be realistic, so don't go and make one of the beaudelaire children or anything. Also remember that the roleplay takes place in London. Whilst London is a very ethnic and diverse place, with a large asian community and people from all over the world, the majority of people will be londoners born and bred, so you should have a good reason for it if your character is foreign. Characters can be of any age, but remember you're going to have to roleplay them, so a baby or 90 year old man may not be the best idea.
- 2. Powers must relate to your character
As stated in the main rules, the power you give your character should relate to their personality. Flight for a pilot. Immortality for a really cocky person. Mind control for someone with a paranoid and controlling persona, that sort of thing. As long as it's related it's fine.
- 3. Your character must be based on a celebrity faceclaim
this is to give everyone an idea of what your character looks like. It doesn't have to be a really famous celebrity, but make sure you can provide images of the person you are using for the faceclaim in your profile, as well as a name for them. Remember, you cannot use anime or cartoon characters as Faceclaims on this site.
- 4. No godmodding or powerplaying
When roleplaying, the only actions you should be controlling are that of your own character, or any NPCs that you are using at this time. You should not under any circumstances control the character of another player in the thread through your posts, unless you have their explicit permission to do so - this is godmodding. Powerplaying is similar. When fighting with another character, your own is not a god. Despite any superpowers they have, they cannot do everything, and will not dodge every attack, nor have all of their own attacks hit. Make the fights realistic (barring superpowers obviously).
- 5. Don't enter too many threads at once
While the site does utilise liquid time, meaning your character can be in more than one thread at a time, do not abuse this liberty. It is suggested that your character does not stay in more than three threads at once, as otherwise it could get out of hand. If you have multiple characters however, feel free to enter this many threads for each one of them, as long as you believe you can keep active in all of them.
- 6. Stick to your biography
Don't write that your character is a shy and kind individual and then have him going clubbing all the time and banging girls. You must stick to the facts that you've got listed in your characters biography. If you wish to play a different character, just make a new one - keep the characters as they were made. Also make sure that you do not use any other powers than the one listed in your biography. Someone with Pyrokinesis shouldn't also be able to fly randomly in a thread.
- 7. Keep to a post order
If you're in a thread with others, make sure the posting is ordered. For example say Persons A, B, C and D are roleplaying together. The first round of posting can go at any time, i.e D, B, A, C, but after this you must keep that post order unless someone cannot post. D should not be posting twice for every once that C posts, etc. This extends to double posting, unless you are in a solo thread and Roleplaying on your own.
- 8. Respect thread tags
When Roleplaying, a thread can be tagged at the end of the title. Tags such as [open] mean that any member can have their character join, whereas [closed] or a tag with a username would mean that the player is waiting for a specific character to join. if a thread is not tagged, please contact the owner to ask before you post in it.
As with the main rules, breaking these will result in a warning. For the rules about what to put in your profile a warning will not be issued, rather your profile simply won't be approved until it is altered.
