Pushing herself out of the water, droplets dripping off of her body, Iona wrapped her towel around her shoulders and grabbed another one to wipe her face. She sighed into it, embracing the cosy touch against her wet skin, before removing it and glancing around the room. The pool in which she had been training was one hundred meters long and at one end was four meters deep. She was the only person here, apart from her personal trainer, whom was now beside her. She congratulated Iona on how fast her swimming had become and Iona merely gave a small smile and a shrug. There was no way in hell that she was ever telling her trainer, Alana, why she had become so much faster in the water.
Exiting the pool she headed towards the showers. When her finished she grabbed her stuff from her locker, Iona quickly got changed, slipping on her dragon bracelet, which was designed to look like a dragon entwining around her wrist. After that, she lightly ran her hand up her arm, tracing her tattoo of a rose plant, also entwining. But this time, however, it started at her wrist and stopped just before her elbow. Then she put on her locket; inside of it was a picture of her parents, so that they were ‘always with her.’
Popping a twenty pence into the machine which started the hair drier, she waited for it to start, impatiently tapping her foot. When it had finally decided to stop trying her patience, it started and Iona started drying her dark brown locks. Within five minutes she had finished and donned her blue Jack Will’s jumper before leaving the building. Running a hand through her hair, purely out of habit, and looked around her, pondering on what to do now. She knew that she had to drop her stuff back home but then she had some spare time before she headed off to collage. She also knew that she should study, but she really wasn’t up for it.
Upon arriving at her flat, she dumped her wet clothes into the washing basket and got her stuff for collage ready. She collapsed on her couch, and stared at the ceiling with grey eyes. “What do I do now?” That’s when it came to her; She had been here a year and she hadn’t even climbed to the top of St. Paul’s Cathedral. Grinning, she once again donned her jumper and ran out of the door, taking her shoulder bag that contained her purse, Blackberry and iPod and locked the door behind her.
St Paul’s was massive - she had passed it before, but never actually been inside it. It wasn’t as busy as it was only Wednesday; Saturday and Sunday where the days when it was mobbed. It took a couple of minutes for her to get to the reception desk, but once she got there, she handed over money and they let her through. Iona was tempted to go down to the morgue, but she knew that she only had time to climb to the top as she only had a couple of hours before collage.
At first, she clambered the steps as fast as humanly possible, but after around one hundred steps, she slowed down, a little out of breath. Rubbing her calves, she started again up the stairs, this time jogging up at a steady pace. On numerous occasions she miscalculated the steps and tripped, not always managing to stop herself falling. One she had reached two hundred steps, she stopped for a rest. Counting in her head, she recalled that there were two hundred and fifty nine steps in total. “Only fifty nine more to go,” And once again she started climbing.
Panting heavily, and holding onto the walls for support she finally reached the top. She had never really been afraid of heights, but as she looked over the side, her stomach lurched slightly. Taking her Blackberry phone out of her back, she clicked the button in attempt to find the time. Her phone was out of charge; just her luck. She looked around for the sercurity guard that was always at the top of St Paul’s. “Hello? Excuse me, sir, but can you tell me the time?” She asked, her words thick with a Welsh accent. Sometimes, she still found it hard to speak full English, and would slip into Welsh, her first language. The security guard told her two o’clock which meant that she still had a couple of hours before she had to go to collage. Turning her attention back to the view, her grip tightened on the railing which stopped anyone from falling over. A small smile toyed at her lips as her eyes flickered along the horizon, taking in the London skyline.

Evan was a little miffed. Partly because he'd had gotten up early that morning - for reasons which will be explained soon - and also partly because his friends were all busy. Ughh. It pissed him off so much. Of course, the two were linked. None of them had classes today, so they'd planned to meet up. That's why he'd got up early. They wanted to drive out to Thorpe park, which was a few hours away from London. Evan wasn't the best driver, so he hadn't planned on driving them anyway. Sam was much better at that, he was a little older and drove more, so he'd had more practise at that method of Transport than Evan had. It was he and Sam, and one or two other friends of theirs, that had planned to visit the park that day.
Until they'd cancelled on him, of course. Ugh. Shaking his head vigorously, Evan smacked his fist down on the bed, leaping back as the duvet ignited into flame. This however, only served to make him more angry. He'd forgotten about all this fire stuff for a moment. Well, i say a moment, he tended to forget about it a lot. Looking around his room, it was a lot emptier than it had been not so long ago. He'd found it hard enough to explain a couple of singed items to the landlord, and eventually he'd had to start just getting rid of stuff all together. Staring at the duvet, he glared at it, trying to make it go out. As calmly as he could manage, he spread his hand out over the burning duvet. Luckily - so far only a small part had gone aflame and it was still usable. As he stroked the duvet, the flame dwindled and disappeared, leaving a singed black hole in the cover. The inside bit had gone a bit brown, but it was mainly fine. He might have to buy a new cover.
The incident had sobered his anger a little, and he sighed. He'd been really looking forward to the whole thing to. The rides at thorpe park were legendary - he'd only been there twice but he'd enjoyed both times. Just, proper hardcore full on enjoyed a lot.
Still, he might as well not waste the day. Where should he go? Somewhere he wouldn't get angry, that was for sure. He couldn't deal with things exploding anymore. The church? Heh, the priest was annoying and he wasn't in the mood to see him. The cathedral might be a good idea though. He liked the bells there. Hopefully it'd calm him down, and stop him blowing anything else up.
He didn't bother grabbing a bag or anything, instead he just shoved a couple of pounds in his pocket (the bus cost, and a baguette express would be nice) and walked out of the door, trying to retain his cool as he slid out of the halls of residence and out onto the street. He was in one of those big buildings with a load of people staying in it, sharing a kitchen and bathroom and stuff. Student life was difficult. He could have stayed with his parents really, but the student housing was right by the uni, and he wanted to get out of his childhood home to be honest.
The bus was a roundabout one that went all through the city for a bit before stopping close to the Cathedral. He'd been to it a few times recently, it helped him keep calm when he was angry. That's why he was coming now, of course.
Counting the stairs as he went up to the top. One, two, three, four five...
It was a long way up. From ground level: ...two-hundred and fifty seven, two-hundred and fifty eight, two-hundred and fifty nine. Stopping his counting, he looked up. He was there now, and nothing had burst into flames. Yet, anyway. He still had to be careful. Already though, he was feeling a little calmer being this close to a place of god.
Only thing was, there was already someone up here. Of course, on a weekend or a friday or in the holidays that was to be expected. Not just after the lunch break on a wednesday, when the holidays were nowhere to be seen. He'd expected to be alone.
Sighing, he tried to contain his irritation. It was done easily enough, this wasn't too bad. At least she wasn't being really loud or anything. He walked up to her, leaning on the railing a meter or so to her left.
"Enjoying the view?" he asked, his anger gone now. This place was too beautiful to get angry in. He looked over the whole of london and thought to himself - this is what it must have been like to be a bird, over everything, omniscient. And not a flame in sight.

Iona let out a small noise, a sort of half snort, half squeal. She hadn't expected anyone to be up here; most people were working at this time or at school, and the tourists came at the weekend. Her grip on the banister tightened as she looked down over the edge, causing her natural dark brown curls to roll off of her shoulders and dangle in the air. The people below were the size of mere ants. Taking another deep breath, she let her gaze roam.
From here she could see the London eye, Big Ben and, of course, the millenium bridge which was not far from St Paul's. The river Thames was in view, and although it brought back bad memories of how she got her power, it still looked oddly beautiful when the sun hit it.
Pursing her lips and clicking her tongue, she once again tried to turn on her Blackberry, and once again it was a failed attempt. How could she not even notice that it ws out of charge? Her sharp temper caused a growl to start forming in her throat, but she stopped it before it escaped her mouth.
Then, she turned her attention to the person who had just come up, only then realising that she had appeared ignorant and had ignored him. A light chuckled rolled off of her tongue. Sometimes, she forgot she was bipolar, and only her quick mood changes made her remember.
"How could you not enjoy it?" She replied, her voice echoing slightly.
The breeze picked up, blowing her fringe into her eyes. Iona blew the locks in a frustrated manner, but, of course, they fluttered back into the exact same position that they always were; tickling her eyes. The wind nipped her ears, but she ignored it.
She let her hand leave the sanctuary of the railing that had been keeping her steady and rubbed her arms to keep them warm. Her Jack Will's jumper was warm, but it was nothing against the English weather. When she realised that she wasn't holding on to the realing anymore, she quickly put her hands back onto the golden bar.
Iona had decided that heights was now one of her fears. She had been fine with them before now, but beign as high up as she was, she couldn't help but feel slightly scared. There was nothing that could harm her up here, apart from that boy. But he didn't look like one of those crazy people who push others off of the top of St Paul's cathederal.
Taking deep, steady breaths, she tore her eyes away from the scene around them. Yes, it was beautiful, and yes, you could see for miles, but just the thought of being so high up scared her. It was as if it was taunting her, knowing it had gotten the better of her, if only slightly.
She then realised that she still had her iPod, and that she could check the time on that. Searching her shoulder bag, she found her orange iPod nano and quickly checked the time. She still had ages before she needed to go.
Deciding the polite thing to do would be to make conversation, she raked her mind for something to say. After two minutes, the only thing that she could think of was, "Hi," and being as stubborn as she was, she wasn't going to say that. Although, one of Iona's biggest downfall was that she was far too curious for her own good. Curiousity killed the cat. That was what her parents had always said to her, although she never actually took any notice of it.
"So.. why are you up here?" She asked. "It's not my buisness, but I was the only person. I thought everyone would be at work, school, etc?"

It was hard not to feel a little awkward when the girl didn't reply. Usually he was the sort of standout guy that people noticed him immediately as he walked into the room, and he was used to that a little. When it took her a while to realise that he had even started speaking at all, he found it a little hard to fathom. Still, there was nothing to be said about it, and Evan shrugged off the feeling, smiling and waiting for her reply as he looked out over the Thames and the City which lay spread out like a monopoly board beneath them.
There was a light breeze in the air, and although it was hardly sunny, and the sky was dappled with clouds, it was a beautiful experience to look out over the lay of the land. Hey, he could see the university from here. Smiling at that, he turned back to the girl. Aha, she seemed to have noticed him now.
Laughing, he smiled back at her. "I know, it's pretty amazing. You up here often?" he asked casually, taking a deep breath. There was something odd about this girl, she didn't feel totally comfortable around him. Then again, a lot of people didn't. And she sounded welsh anyway. maybe she wasn't around here. He thought of his grandfather, who had lived in wales. He hadn't known him that well, but he knew the accent well. When the girl spoke again, he was a little surprised. He hadn't thought that she would, to be perfectly honest. And he was enjoying the view as well, so the silence wasn't awkward or anything.
Why was he up here? What was he supposed to say to that - he wondered. Thinking it over slowly, it was a few seconds before he went into conversation. Of course, usually he was the type to speak straight away, without thinking - that was his ADHD. He felt calm for now though, and he was able to think things through.
"It helps me get calm. The view, you know?" he said, an outgoing tone in his voice. "Relieves a little stress, i guess - and i don't have any classes today so..." he finished. Heh. Funny, he'd been expecting to give out and say a little more something. He'd just run out of words though, it seemed. Ah well.
"How about you then?" he continued, looking at her. She was quite pretty, and she certainly looked fit. He wondered for a moment if she might not be some sort of athlete. He was still playing a little bit of tennis, but not too much - University was keeping him busy most of the time it seemed. "Are you from around here?" he asked, giving in to the temptation of asking. She didn't really sound like a full londoner, but then again most people weren't these days. London was such a diverse place in the twenty-first century, it wasn't uncommon to find people from all over the world in the city, so welsh certainly wasn't that uncommon.

Pursing her lips slightly and clicking her tongue on the roof of her mouth, Iona turned around to face the boy, her hands still clutching the railing in a protective manner. She examined him with grey eyes, tilting her head slightly. Because of the way that she was facing, the wind was now blowing her hair out of her eyes, much to Iona's pleasure.
At his question, she hesitated. She didn't know him, she shouldn't be conversing with him. When she was younger, she had always been told not to talk to strangers, but, as always, she ignored the advice.
"Na, mae hyn mewn gwirionedd yn fy amser cyntaf," She had automatically launched into her first language, but she then stopped, thinking over the words in her head, scrunching up her nose as she always did when she was thinking. She then repeating what she had said in English. "No, it's actually my first time."
She diverted her gaze, lowering her eyes back down to the scene below them. Again, her stomach lurched and her head felt slightly dizzy. Iona was clutching onto the railing so hard that her knuckles were now white. That was the first time that she had slipped into Welsh since she had moved here, and she wasn't happy with herself. She had worked so hard to perfect her English.
Listening to him speak, her eyes never left the people down on the ground, a good few hundred meters below them. They moved around, performing their tasks and fullfilling their daily needs. Once he had done, she looked back at him, giving off a small shrug.
"It's.. high. Really, really high," For a milisecond, a glint of fear showed in her expression, but she quickly covered it up. She kept wondering to herself, why she was up here is the height scared her. The view was oddly entracing and it was nearly phyisically impossible to tear herself away from it.
"I had a couple of hours before I go to uni. I've only been here a year, and I felt kinda stupid that I hadn't been to the top," She chuckled sarcastically to herself, her Nike high tops shuffling against the hard concrete floor.
"I'm actually from Wales.. but you probably guessed that. I moved here so I could get into the London 2012 Olympics," She bit her lip, wondering why she had just blurted out her life to someone she had just met. She caught his eye and then looked away again.
"What about you? You from around here?"

a dismayed look rippled across Evan's face when she launched off, speaking in fluent welsh. Or at least he thought it was welsh. It might have been Celtic or something, but from the accent he was pretty sure. Obviously it had just been a mistake, because she quickly corrected herself, telling Evan that it was her first time here. He wasn't surprised really. the look on her face as she'd looked out over the view told him she'd not seen anything quite like it before.
To be honest, she looked a bit ill as she teetered over by the railing, looking out over the ledge below. She must have been afraid of heights or something. Personally, Evan wasn't as afraid of things like that. Especially in a public place like this, it was sufficiently engineered so that you'd have to be pretty stupid - or have a death wish - to fall off of the cathedral. The railings pretty much kept you safe. having said that, although he didn't like to admit it Evan was still a little afraid of the dark. He didn't know what it was, but it was just something about not being able to see your surroundings that unnerved him. That had been another cause of his damned power since the storm - a couple of times he'd been walking down the street alone at night and seen something light up his way, before realising he'd just set a small shop on fire, or a potted plant on someones front patio.
"Yeah, high is the word.." he said, slowly but audibly.
So she was an athlete! here for the olympics it seems. Scratching his slightly stubbled chin, Evan looked at her and wondered which sport. He couldn't really fathom things like that to be perfectly honest.
"Which sport?" he questioned in an attempt to end his curiosity about the subject. "And wow, Uni and sport training? I'm not surprised you haven't had time to come up here, your schedule must be packed," he grinned, getting back more into his usual persona a little more, the calming effect of the cathedral spreading over him and making him a little more excitable.
"I hardly have time for studying my coursework as it is, how do you manage both?" he asked, genuinely confused. As it was he had very few days completely free, and much of his time was taken up with studying and lectures. a lot of people thought it was amazing he'd got so far with his ADHD and in a way it was. Meh, he just wanted to succeed really, and he put all his energies into that. Well, that and keeping his friends. And girls and stuff. But yeah, Uni was important to. He was going to need to get a job some time, after all - and a low level uni course would come in handy with that.

From up here she could see the block of flats that she lived in. A smirk toyed at her lips as she listened to the boy. A light, sarcastic chuckle rolled off of her tongue as he said, 'high is the word.' She twisted her body around so that she was now facing him, but her hands never left the railing.
Iona gave him a light shrug at him. As soon as he asked the question, she smiled. "Swimming!" She loved swimming. Yes, it could get annoying at times, but the feeling she got when she was swimming, it was undescribable. It felt as though you were soaring, gliding through the water gracefully. Although, her Aquakinesis had helped a lot in the fact that she had gotten faster recently. But she wasn't going to tell anyone about it, it could damage her career.
"It's actually extremely difficult. I study when I'm eating breakfast and on the way to the pool, and then I train 'til about three-ish. I got out early today. Anyway, then I go to Uni until five. Then the rest of the evening, I study. It doesn't give me much of a social life, though," She gave a lopsided grin.
"What course are you taking, if you hardly have time to study?" She quirked one eyebrow. Taking a step back from the railing, she leaned against the wall, feeling a lot better. From here, she couldn't see the ground and therefore couldn't calculate how high up she was and couldn't be scared.
Taking a hair bobble off of her wrist, the one without the tattoo, which was decorated to her elbow with various bracelet, she tied her dark curls up in a loose ponytail. The locks whipping her face had become annoying. Then she realised she didn't even know the boys name, and she was telling him about herself.
"So.. what's your name?" She asked, almost politely.

Evan nodded. Swimming. Yeah, she looked like a swimmer. Then again if she'd said running he probably would have said she looked like a runner. And the same for relay, or high jump, or any other event. Perhaps not hammer throw. Or discuss. Anyway, point made.
"Yeah, i can imagine," he said. If he'd ever got really good at tennis he probably wouldn't have gone to university at all. he scratched the side of his face. It wasn't that he had an itch or anything, he just did it sometimes. It wasn't of any significance.
Actually, his course wasn't that tricky at all. Just he had difficulties with studying, and he often needed extra help. He didn't really want to tell this girl that though, she was too pretty for that. Evan tried to think quickly, though he hid it on his face, biting his lip a little on the inside. In actual fact, the course he was studying was a business course, but it wasn't especially advanced or anything.
"Uh, business." he said simply - it wasn't a lie as such, he was just leaving out the bit that might make him seem not as intelligent as he did already. To be honest, it was more of a college thing than a proper university course. Enough of that though, he knew he was doing well considering.
Evan watched interestedly as the girl tied up her hair. She was quite pretty. So were a lot of people though, it wasn't anything too special nowadays. She looked a bit older than him to. Then again, Evan didn't exactly look 'old' for his age. In fact, out of his friend he was always the one who got his I.D checked by club bouncers and even in the cinema going to view 18 rates films.
His name? For a moment, Evan smiled, amused by the fact that they hadn't gotten to that yet. Usually that was the first thing that he told people.
"Oh yeah, sorry – i'm Evan," he said, smiling. He was unsure if he should go for a handshake. Nah, perhaps that was a bit too formal. This wasn't really a formal sort of place, he thought to himself, looking about the place.
Eventually, he stopped his looking (well, it was a few seconds) and realised he hadn't asked for the girls name either. Ah, he'd better do that then. "Um, how about you then?" he said, obviously referring to her name.
Slowly, he wondered where he should be taking the conversation next. Uhm. Names, why they were here. What was next?
"So've you got any plans until you need to be at Uni?" he asked, interested, smiling at her. "I mean, as nice as the view is, you'd get bored being up here for a few hours, y'know?" he laughed, and indeed it was true. There were a couple of boards around with information about the cathedral and how it was built and stuff, but he'd read them all many times before. It was nothing new. of course, she might like to read them, and that was fine.

Iona watched him with startling grey eyes as he scratched his chin, she couldn't help but let a sly grin crawl onto her facial features. He couldn't be much younger than her, he could actually be the same age. Iona was never good with things like that. She was only nineteen, after all.
She nodded in agreement. The only reason she was at university, was in case her swimming failed on her. It was her backup plan. She didn't know how far she would get with swimming. She clicked her tongue again, still watching him.
She was taking a law course. She didn't know why, she had just chosen it at random. It gave good money, but Iona wasn't brightest star in the sky. But she could make do. She would be optomistic about her swimming, making sure to think positive thoughts about it. It helped, most of the time.
"Iona. I'm Iona," She returned the smile. Playing with the end of her sleeve, waiting for him to say something. The silence wasn't awkward or anything, but she liked to have conversation. It calmed her, sort of.
Her stomach rumbled inside her, and she placed her hand ontop of it, only now realising that she hadn't eaten anything at all today. That might also add to the fact of why she had felt dizzy, it might not have just been because of the height.
Casting her gaze upwards, she noticed a flock of birds. The soared effortlessly through the sky, gliding with ease. She would never admit it, but Iona always wanted to fly. It seemed weird, but she couldn't help it. She sneered slightly at the birds, though. Birds were one of her pet hates. She looked back to him, hoping she hadn't made a fool of herself.
She gave a lopsided shrug, and laughed at his comment. "I'm sure I saw a cafe downstairs. And, not to sound like a pig, but I am starving," She grinned, throwing her hand into her bag and pulling out her purse, making sure she had money to pay for food. Thankfully, she did, and she returned her gaze to Evan.
"You coming, then? You don't have to, but.." She raised her head, still grinning. "Like you said, it gets boring after a couple of hours,"

Iona. A lovely name, Evan thought to himself. Mega welsh though. Evan itself was a welsh name according to his dad, but Iona was mega-welsh. He smiled at her, returning her grin and speaking out. "Iona - well, nice to meetcha'" he beamed, then wondered for a moment whether he should reach out a hand to shake. They'd already talked enough to not do that though, he supposed, and so he did not.
It was a good idea to go grab a bite to eat. He'd already had a spot of lunch, but he could eat something more - he generally could. Probably something small like a Panini or some such item, and maybe a coffee or an ice tea. Yeah - that would be lovely. Smiling, Evan nodded and smiled.
"Sounds great - lets go!" he exclaimed, following Iona down the stairs quickly. She'd got a head start, so he rushed a bit at first and stumbled a little on the stairs before regaining his balance and then following her down the stairs. There was a lot of them, and he wondered as they made their way down what he should ask next. He was generally quite good with questions and stuff like that.
Turns out, it wasn't necessary for him to think of something, as moments later drops of cold water began to fall from the sky. Evan shivered a little. he didn't like rain. He didn't like rain much at all. It wasn't heavy for now, but it could be soon, so he didn't want to hang around too much or anything.
"C'mon, let's hurry up - i don't wanna' get caught in the rain," [/b] he exclaimed, boldly reaching out to take Iona's hand and dash down the stairs a little faster. The fact that they'd only just met made it a little odd, but it was totally innocent - he just wanted to get out of the rain as soon as possible. Realising it was probably an odd thing, he let go a few seconds later, and turned round at her, a slightly embarrassed look on his face. "Sorry," he blushed, and continued going down the stairs, quick but not too quick. When they eventually reached the bottom he looked around, taking a moment to spot the Café. "That one?" he asked, pointing to it before walking over. The rain was still light luckily, and he wasn't too wet or anything. when he got into the café though, he breathed a sigh of relief. Rain meant a storm could be coming - and another storm wasn't something Evan liked the sound of. Especially if it was like the other one. "sorry about that.. I had a bad experience with a storm.." he mumbled quietly, leading Iona over to a table where he sat down on the metal chair.[/sub][/blockquote]

Iona could hear Evan's heavy footsteps behind her, and she turned around to face him. She hadn't gotten very far down thre steps, maybe twenty or thirty steps. "Come on then, slow coach," She teased, giggling.
When the rain came on, though, Iona stopped and looked up, a small smile played at her lips. Iona loved water. She actually quite liked rain. The only bad thing about it, though, was the fact that it was cold. Why couldn't it be warm? Rain would be amazing if it was warm.
The one thing she didn't want to happen, however, was for the rain to turn into snow. In Iona's point of view, there is nothing good about it. It's cold. It's wet. It's clogs up the streets and no-one can get anywhere. What is so good about that annoying white stuff that settles on the roads?
She deffinetely did not expect Evan to grab her hand. Running down the stairs after him, she shouted numerous warnings, such as, "Don't go so fast! I'm going to trip!" But when he dropped her hand, she was also blushing slightly, her cheeks tinged with pink. "It's fine, it's fine," She replied, smiling.
She started following him down again, holding onto the banister that she hadn't noticed on the way up. The rain wasn't heavy, but it still got her wet. As they reached the bottom, she turned to him. "Well. We've climbed all two hundred and fifty nine steps." She actually sounded quite pleased with herself.
"Well, naw. What other Cafe would it be?" She grinned, her sarcastic side coming out. But as he spoke about a storm, her grin stopped. She dropped her voice. "Me too,"
Glanging at their table, and then to the place where you ordered food, Iona pondered over what to do. If they left and ordered food, their table could get taken. But, if Iona left her bag there, it would mark the table as theirs, but there was also a large chance that it would get stolen.
Deciding that it wasn't busy anough for someone to take their table, Iona led the way over to the ordering place. Turning to Evan, she put a small smile on her face. "Order the same amount as me, so I don't look like a pig ordering lots," She was only half joking, though.
Glancing at the food, she noticed a burger. You could see the grease and everything dripping out of it. She shuddered and instead went for the healthier option of pasta, some soup(Which she couldn't idenitfy, and was slightly wary of eating) and some orange juice. Paying at the till, she headed back over to the table and stabbed a peice of pasta with her fork before placing it in her mouth.
Her jumper had turned out to have gotten wet, even though the rain wasn't heavy. But she could easily get a cold, from wearing a wet jumper. And because of her swimming, the wouldn't let her in the pool if she was ill, and she needed to train. Pulling off her jumper to reveal a plain white t-shirt, she rubbed her arms again to keep her warm. "You would think it would be warmer here, wouldn't you? I think it was actually warmer up the stairs." The last part was a joke, but it was cold inside the Cafe.
She picked at her pasta and took a drink of her juice, before turning her attention back to Evan. "Okay, then, Evan. Twenty qestions," She said, referring to the game. It was basically a way of getting to know people better, by asking them any twenty questions.

Evan smiled, though he didn't really want to order very much at all. He'd already eaten, and he certainly hadn't spend the last few hours training as a swimmer. He didn't like swimming anyway. Pools weren't too bad, but he could never have done it for a living, or training or whatever. two small menus sat in a metal clip at the centre of the table and he reached forward to take them, handing one to Iona and viewing over the other one himself. Hmm, a nice Panini would be good, or perhaps a bowl of chips. That's not crisps, fries to you crazy americans. Maybe a salad. Waiting for a moment, he caught the eye of a short waitress a few years older than him, signalling her to come over. She quickly did, and evan looked to Iona, waiting for her to tell the waitress what she would be having.
Once she was done with that, he spoke for himself, telling the waiter what he would like to order.
"Uhm, could i get a cheese and tomato Panini, a small bowl of chips and a sprite – thanks!" he said quickly, looking up and thinking what he wanted. He decided to go for a panini and chips as well as his drink. it'd keep him going well in to the evening, which was good because he didn't like cooking for himself, and his roommates were hardly gourmet chefs. He was getting better at cooking himself though - he'd found if he concentrated very hard, he could control the flame and where it went and how hot it was and such. He'd only managed it a little, and not enough to make a difference, but he knew if he could hone this skill then it would make him a brilliant cook, cooking only the parts of the meal that needed to be cooked, and some more than others. it would be quite brilliant really.
Evan shivered. She was right, the cafe was quite cold. Didn't they have central heating or anything in here? It was better than outside, especially away from the rain, but that didn't matter too much. It was really cold. Evan wished he'd worn more layers that morning - wished he'd thought about it first. It had been pretty obvious that it was going to rain, so why hadn't he?
As they waited for the order to arrive, Iona brought up the topic of 'twenty questions'. Like, the game. Evan laughed. it would certainly be interesting. He liked this girl, she was fun.
"Alrighty then, if we must,"
[/b] he grinned, though actually he was just joking - he was fine with playing it. "Who's gonna ask the questions?"he could have thought have twenty questions probably, but really he would have preferred if Iona started. Still, he'd leave it up to her.[/blockquote][/sub]

She listened to him order, shaking her head slightly. "Cheese and tomato? Does that even taste nice?" She crunched up her nose, as she always did when she was thinking. Picking up her orange juice and taking a sip of it, Iona quirked one eyebrow.
Neatly stealing a chip from his plate, she grinned. Her trainer would have scolded her if she had saw her eating that. "Okay, then. I'll ask first," She thought over questions in her head, and decided to do a couple at one.
Scrunching up her nose again, she thought of what to ask. She didn't want to do boring questions, 'cause as already stated, they're boring. "Rihanna or Katy Perry?" She asked before eating another bit of pasta.
Not even waiting for him to answer, she moved on. "When was the last time you hurt yourself?" She knew her own answer to that. Earlier, she had been despaerate to get training over with, and she had slipped on the wet floor. She should learn to start listening to the rules.
"What movie could you watch over and over again?" She was talking quite quickly now, her words slurred together because of her accent. Chuckling, she pinched another chip, merely because she hadn't eaten them in ages.
"What book do you simply adore?" She grinned, leaning back in her chair, stretching her legs out under the table. "What kind of music do you like?"
"What is the craziest thing you have ever done, and name one person who you completely hate," She could name one person she hated instantly. Alexandra Burke. Iona hated her, purely because she acted American, when she was English. She refused to like any of her songs, even if they were good, just because she didn't like her.
Iona wasn't sure how many questions she had asked now, but she only had one more. Any more would probably confuse him.
She paused slightly, hesitating over the next question that had popped into her head. She was wary about asking it, and since the storm, she herself had been acting weird. she could control water, for heaven's sake! Luckily, no-one seemed to notice, and her trainer just thought that she had gotten better. Swallowing, Iona averted her gaze momentarily, biting the inside of her lip.
"If you could have one superpower, what would it be?" She asked quietly, unsure if her voice was even audible.

Evan looked at her, a little puzzled. Of course cheese and tomato tasted nice. He would have liked a bit of onion in it to and a slice of ham - maybe even a dash of pickle, but they obviously didn't have taste in this cafe (sandwichwise, anyway). He picked up his panini, taking a chunk out of it with his teeth and gulping it down. "Molto bene!"
[/b] he exclaimed, placing the tomato and cheese panini back on the plate before turning to the bowl of chips to pick a few up, and put them in his mouth. Mm, they were good - had a good texture. Not too soggy or anything, but big to. Nice chips. He allowed Iona to steal one, and that was fine with him. He was just excited to listen to these questions she had to ask him. He wondered if he'd have to ask some questions afterwards. The first question was easy enough. "Katy Perry,"[/b] he told her. "I don't like Rihanna's haircut. Or her songs. She's a crazy character. Katy Perry's generally alright though, but i don't like her husband very much,"[/b] he said. He didn't tend to listen to her songs, but she was fine. The california gurls music video had made him chuckle. When was the last time he'd hurt himself? Evan thought back, scratching the side of his face a little. "I think i stubbed my toe this morning on the counter. It hurt like hell. does that count?"[/b] he asked, shrugging. She probably meant a serious injury, but meh. Stubbing your toe hurt a lot. Movies. He thought carefully. "There's a lot of them really. Nightmare before christmas is a good one. Anything by Studio Ghibli,"[/b] he said, nodding his head surely. Then he leaned in a little, glancing around to make sure nobody would see. "I like chick flicks sometimes.."[/b] he whispered carefully, then sat up straight again, taking another bite out of his panini, sipping at the sprite and shoving a couple more chips into his mouth for good measure. He ate a bit like a pig, but he didn't mind. Book and Music next. he thought for a moment. he didn't read much. "I don't really read much.. Y'know, short attention span and all that.. I've gotta read for college though so i've got used to it a little. In secondary we did The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I loved that book quite a lot. As for music. Eh, i like Panic at the Disco, Eels, Owl City. Stuff ranging from Folk to optimistic electronic, i guess,"[/b] he said, smiling. He also liked a bit of Iwan Rheon, and even the soundtrack to the nightmare before christmas, but they weren't as well known. "Crazy thing. Uhm, last day of highschool we did some crazy stuff i think. I don't remember most of it, that's how crazy it was,"[/b] he grinned, then thought about someone he hated. It was hard - there were so many annoying people. "Maybe David Cameron. Or Justin Bieber,"[/b] he said simply, not going into it too much. They both really annoyed him a lot. He didn't want to talk about that though. Her next question however, ripped that thought from his mind completely. Did she say superpower? a tingling began in his throat as worry began to surge through his veins. Luckily it wasn't anger, or he probably would have blown up the waitress already. Other emotions didn't get his firepower so worked up, which meant he had time to calm himself down. taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes for a moment. It was probably just a coincidence. She was a swimmer, the storm was hardly going to have given her Pyrokinesis like he had. That was a superpower, and as far as he knew that was the effect of the storm, to give pyrokinesis, but he was sure now it was just a coincidence. "S-superpower. Um,"[/b] this time he thought about the actual question. Pyrokinesis was actually pretty cool, but it probably wouldn't be his first choice. It wasn't half bad though. "Well immortality would come in handy. Controlling fire or something would be pretty cool to,"[/b] he said, almost whispering the last part through nervousness. Quiuckly, he moved on. "Right! Same questions for you. Katy Perry or Rihanna first!"[/b] he said, and proceeded to go through each of the same questions that Iona had asked him, listening to her answer until he finally got to the one about superpowers. No, it couldn't have affected her. He was alone in that respect, he was sure of it. It would have been on the news if he wasn't. [/blockquote][/sub]

Gravity, don't mean too much to me [glow=Orange,1,400]Is this our destiny?[/glow]
This world is after me, after you. Iona giggled at him, nodding at his answers. "I'm pretty sure that counts," She laughed. Quirking her eyebrows as he told her the movies, she sipped her juice again. At his craziest moment, she choked slightly on her drink, and then laughed again. Out of frustration, she pulled her her out of the hair bobble, shook her head and let her curls fall loose. She strands and been tightly, pulling against her skin. It had actually hurt. She patted down her hair, fixing it slightly. But when he said that she should answer the exact same questions, she paused, not looking him in the eye. What was she going to say about superpower? Aquakinesis wasn't exactly a well known one. She decided to put that thought to the side, and would come up with something when she came to that question. She grinned, standing up on her chair, raising her hands. "'CAUSE BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK, COME ON LET YOUR COLOURS BURST!" Stopping and looking around, she quickly sank back down in her chair. In the movies, when they randomly burst into song, all the other people in the room joined in. That obviously didn't happen in real life. Looking down, blushing, she ran a hand through her hair. "I like Katy Perry. Her songs are.. catchy," She blushed even deeper, thinking about the next question. "I slipped earlier, going into the pool; I was sorta in a rush. I swear I've got a bruise somewhere," She shuffled around in her chair, prodding her leg where she thought the bruise would have developed. Movies. She scrunched her nose slightly. "I dunno.. I like a lot of movies. I quite like horror ones. I once sat all night, and watch all of the Saw movies. I must have been stupid, 'cause I was on my one. Don't tell anyeone, but when I did eventually go to bed, I was terrified I was abusing life, and that Jigsaw was gonna put me in his games. It's hard to forget that it's only a movie, sometimes," She shuddered. "Um.. books. Okay, well. I don't really have time to read." She blushed again, feeling slightly stupid. "I like, er.. well I do like to read autobiography's.." She trailed off. She laughed to herself at her craziest memory. "Well, it's not really crazy, but it was a stupid thing to do. When I was thirteen, my parents and I were in Egypt, in King Tut's tomb. I found it boring as hell.. so I wandered off, past the barriers. It was actually scary, getting lost in an Egyptian freakin' pyramid!"Someone she hated. "Alexandra Burke. I just hate her. Enough said," She finished her pasta, just as the next question came up. Her throat went dry and itchy, and she started shaking slightly. It was one of her biggest fears, to be found out. To be taken away. To be tested on. Realising she hadn't answered, she quickly thought of something. "Well, I guess.. flying would be cool," she kept far away from the subject of aquakinesis. She thought that she had been the only one effected, because she had something wrong with her genes. She hesitated, and leaned forward, her voice barely a whisper. Her shaking was clearly visable now and her grey eyes were wide, and deadly serious. "...Can I trust you? C-Can you keep a secret?"Run away, like it was yesterday [glow=Orange,1,400]And we could run away[/glow] Run away from here [/font]
