Iona Maegan Gethen
Impatient, protective, gullible
Full Name: Iona Maegan Gethen
Alias: Miss
Age: 19
Date of Birth: 11/ 11/ 1992
Ethnicity: Caucasian - Welsh
Religion: Christian
Orientation: Straight
Occupation: Student
Face Claim: Perry, KATY
Power: Aquakinesis. Iona is a competitive swimmer, and trains in any type of terrain she can find. So she found herself training in the depths of the Thames river in London. She planned to try for the London Olympics in 2012. That was when the storm hit. The lightning striked and surged through the water, hitting Iona. She thought she was going to drown, but then she redeemed herself and swam to the bank of the river, lying on the mud. From then on, she noticed her power. It started gradually, the water coming to meet her. She started practising, but she had barriers. She can control it and upon contact with water, Iona gains a disproportionate amount of strength, combat skill, and speed. This effect wears off soon after leaving the water. Iona can control large volumes of water with great force, for example, she can redirect rivers, create currents to push boats or herself, or even increase surface tension to the point where it is firm enough to stand upon. On a smaller scale, she can also hold back the tide and redirect waves, although it drains her tremendously and she needs to rest after she does something big. She can breath underwater and she can control ocean currents to propel her at great force underwater.
Personality: Iona is diagnosed as being Bipolar, her moods often change. She doesn’t trust easily and at first may come across as rude and snappy. But as you get to know her, she really comes out of her bubble and can be quite happy and bubbly. She takes offense quite easily, and does not easily forgive. She can be quite spiteful and sharp-tongued, and has a short temper. She is rarely seen without her iPod or her Blackberry but can also be somewhat of a loner. She is also very gullible.
Once you get to know her, she can become protective over you, like a mother to her child. If anyone hurt you, she would fight them. She may not always win, but she would try her hardest. She can be stubborn; if you ask her to do something, and she doesn’t want to, she won’t.

History: Iona Maegan Gethen was born on the 11th of November, 1990 to Linda and Aled Gethen. Her parents were both Welsh and it was her first language; English being her second. She lived in Swansea until she was eighteen, when she moved to London to continue to pursue her dream of being a swimmer in the 2010 Olympics in London and to a better collage. From a young age, Iona always loved swimming. Her parents would take her to the pool every weekend and she started getting lessons at the age of five. By the time she was nine, she had now entered competitions and was starting to take swimming seriously.
Her teenage years were unlike most others; yes, she did swear but she only drank alcohol on special occasions, such as weddings or parties. Whilst her peers were our getting drunk and hanging around street corners, Iona would be getting up at 6am to go to her training. She would get a break at 10am for food, and then at 11am it would be back to training until 1pm. Then lunch, then the gym, dinner, home. It became her daily routine, and at times she wanted to give it up, but the thought of swimming in the Olympic pool drove her onwards. Her friend called her ‘Dailey’ for some reason, Iona had never figured out why.
When she was eighteen, she decided to move from Swansea to London. She had a small flat, and studies at a nearby collage. When she isn’t wasn’t studying, she was training, and when she wasn’t training, she was either eating or sleeping. Her social like consisted mostly of the people at the gym. Those people also caught onto her old nickname and often when she would be entering, she would here, “Y’awrite, Dailey?”
To be the best swimmer she could, Iona was determined to swim in all kinds of terrain.. Including the disgusting depths of the Thames. Once se had been altered by the storm, she hadn’t noticed at first. But then she realised that she could swim much faster than any normal human and could stay underwater for longer as well. One thing Iona doesn’t like, though is fire. She hates it; when she was younger, her grandparents house had set on fire. Just thinking of them sent shivers down her spine.
Looks can be decisive, though. Underneath her skin, is someone who actually feels lonely although she would never show it.
