Freddie MarshallSceptical, Fearful, Certain
Full Name: Frederick 'Freddie' Marshall Alias: Freddie/Freds Age: 15 Date of Birth: March 10th 1995 Ethnicity: English Religion: Athiest Orientation: Straight Occupation: Student
Face Claim: BIEBER, Justin
Power: Since the storm, Freddie has gained the power of Nullification. Upon entering an area, Freddie automatically shuts down the powers of any other human, rendering them completely normal. At first, this is a completely unintentional and uncontrollable effect, and can lead to undesirable situations for his fellow misfits; a flyer being rendered earthbound whilst fifty feet up, for example.
As Freddie will eventually loosen up to the idea of powers, he start to develop the ability to cancel out his own nullification. As he originally attempts to do this, he'll cause his power to flicker; people's powers will switch on and off again at random whilst in his presence. In the end, however, he will be able to cancel out or allow powers at will, a very useful ability in his own opinion.
Power/Personality Relation:
- Freddie is a natural sceptic. Removing the powers of the world around him completely also removes any concept of supernatural presence.
- He is a naturally uncreative person. His imagination is limited.
- Logic is important to Freddie, as further shown in the Personality.
Personality: Freddie is a natural sceptic. An untrusting spirit, he is normally very secluded in the way he lives. Though he is able to engage in conversations and is generally not too bad a person to be around, he hasn't had any 'best' friends since very early on in his life, more inclined to mingle with all the groups in the school, and yet not truly be a part of any of them. He isn't bothered by this, however, and will always argue that it's a better way of getting through school. Generally, he doesn't even let his parents in to his private details, but he manages to keep himself from loneliness through the medium of the internet, Facebook especially. He loves to share information on his day, and feels a slight elation whenever he receives a like or a comment.
He's never had any major success with females, and though he's friends with a few, it's never really gone beyond that. His academic success is varied. For the most part, his grades are average, in the Cs and Ds, especially in History, Geography and English. In Maths, however, he sits at an A* level. His sciences are up in the As and Bs also, and his French is also up at an A* grade and his RE grade is reasonable. His mind is very logical, and as such, he loves puzzles, riddles, and anything that tests his brain power. Rather fond of video games, he also uses games as an social outpost, talking to his school friends online while he plays with them. Due to a large amount of boredom in the Summer holidays, Freddie bought a disk set he saw on television, and taught himself a reasonable amount of French.
Freddie, in the same fashion as his parents, is certainly not religious. His family have never believed, and though Freddie did explore the ideas behind Christianity for himself, he found the lack of evidence difficult to swallow. Similarly, he finds all religion completely unbelievable. However, due to his looking into the religions, he has a better understanding than the majority of his age group in general about the religions. He also has a slight passion for Crime Shows. Fred adores music, especially what his age group currently refers to as 'Indie'.
Likes:- Puzzles, Chess (though he barely plays) and other logic games
- A large spectrum of music
- Facebook
- Cats
- Crime shows
Fears:- The unknown
- Death
- Reading/Writing
- Religion
History: Freddie's life was really quite average and uninteresting, as far as he was concerned. He was born in Kingston, Surrey, and spent the first few years of his life in a small, two bedroom house there. His father was a trainee surgeon and his mother owned a small newsagent on the end of the street. As such, he was never exceptionally rich as he grew up. He wasn't spoilt, but he was content. His garden was big enough to run around in, and he had enough toys to keep him occupied. The best part of his early years was, in his opinion, their pet Cat, Tiger. He loved the tabby deeply, the little, old cat loving to curl up on the banister as Freddie ran all around the house. He was never a trouble child, simply active.
At age five, he moved up into central London. His father got a job at a larger hospital as a regular surgeon, and seemed set to start progress into his career. His mother sold the old corner shop, and due to the extra money brought in by Freddie's father, decided to train herself in sewing for a few years. She now runs a small dressmaking shop just off the high street. Freddie joined the local School. He had some success in his first and middle schools, making some best friends, and generally doing decently in the education system. During this time, his father was slowly moving up the ranks, and by the time Freddie had reached high school, his father had filled the position of Chief of Surgery at the local hospital.
Upon reaching high school, his ties with his old best friends were cut within a year as he headed into the state he was in today; friends with everyone, yet not really a true friend to anyone at all. His atheist views developed as he continued through High School, and he became very slightly interested in politics, though he still has a distaste for history, as he simply has a problem with remembering faces, names and dates involving people he'd never met. He enjoys high school, regardless of how lonely he may seem on the outside.
And then, the storm came. A group of about twenty or so children Fred's age were gathered out by the river. Though it wasn't exactly usual behaviour for a group of high schoolers, one of the group had suggested a celebratory picnic for the end of the year's exams. It was good fun; everyone was enjoying themselves. Then storm clouds began to gather above the river. The group immediately began to pack away their things, murmurs of how odd the occasion was rippling throughout. Then, it began to hail. The majority of the group fled quickly, rushing towards shelter. Fred, however, was curious, and made his way towards the river, ducking underneath a hail stone on the way.
It simply wasn't natural, and he couldn't get his head around it. A hail storm? In the middle of the summer? Not only that, but the hail was huge; cars were being smashed to pieces by the chunks. Suddenly, without warning, a bolt of lightning lashed out and struck Freddie. As soon as it vanished... nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. He was definitely mythed, and he quickly checked up to see if all his friends were all right. There was no way of telling if any of the rest of his group had been hit by the lightning; their powers, should they have even gained any, would obviously have been stopped.
Naturally, Fred continued his life as normal. Nothing had changed, why wouldn't he? But soon, his life would be changed irreversibly. If only he knew...
