Rome PANDORA Impatient, Confident, Bitch
Full Name: Rome Ashen Pandora Alias: Rome Age: 18 Date of Birth: 20th March Ethnicity: Half English, Half Italian. Religion: Atheist. Orientation: Straight. Occupation: Student.
Face Claim: Fox, Megan.
Power: Pyrokinesis;; Rome has always had an interest in fire. After the storm, she's realised that she can create and manipulate fire with just her mind. Flames cannot harm her in any way, but she can feel the heat to a certain extent. She would never feel uncomfortable when touching fire, however.
Rome can create fire from out of thin air, and can be produced from the palms of her hand. Because of this, she can throw fireballs and directed steams of flame.. you get the idea. She can also spread heat, but only from her palms. These can be done with her mind, but they work the best when she's emotional, as her fire is stronger, and more dangerous.
Of course, bursting things into flames comes with the territory, but Rome always finds this harder than actually producing flames. For example, creating a ball of fire in her hand is easier for her than to set a bed on fire. It's in her ability to do it, but her control over this department is sloppier, and she sometimes fails to keep it under control. Like one time, she meant to set a jumper on fire, just to scare the person, but ended up burning said person instead. Oops.
Rome can put fires out that she has started, but other than that, she demolish fires that she hasn't caused. She can control the intensity of them, but she can't fully put them out. It's physically impossible for her to do so.
Her flames are usually red/orange, but in the rare cases when she is extremely emotional, they turn out blue/white, which is a much hotter flame than her usual one. However, Rome isn't aware of this as of yet. She has control over her power, but when her emotions get the better of her, her control can slip. When this happens, she can set things alight randomly, and fire will be produced all over her skin, when touched.
It's safe to say that Rome's power is dangerous. But she likes to believe that she has it under her control, and she even wears flame retardant fingerless gloves, so that she doesn't produce as much fire as she had before. To tell the truth, Rome loves her power. She was always in love with fire, right from the very beginning.
Power/Personality Relation:
- She's hot tempered, and can be easily angered.
- She's in love with fire, and always has been. It's her favourite element, and she thinks it's beautiful, one of natures finest gifts.
- She has a fiery personality, and is passionate in what she believes in, and will always stand up for them.
- She's always enjoyed heat, and has hated the cold and wet English weather. For those that cannot make the connection, fire and water are opposites.
Personality: As expected, Rome Ashen Pandora is one fiery bitch. And damn proud.
Growing up, Rome had been the quiet and mousy type, never wanting to be in the centre of attention. As a child, she hated socialising, and had always preferred to be on her own. Her mother however, had always wanted her only child to grow up to become the socialite that she herself had been, and still was in fact. When forced to realise that Rome would just simply not become the wonderful socialite that she had hoped, her mother began to treat Rome harshly, not seeming to care for her 'failed' daughter any more.
To be honest, Rome was just glad that she didn't have to attend any social events any more.
Her punishments as a child used to be getting locked into the 'thinking room' where Rome was forced to stay in and think about her wrong actions. This, was where her claustrophobia had originated from. Another form of punishment that her mother loved, was to restrict her from any technology, further detaching Rome from any sort of social life. Through this punishment, was where Rome managed to become a technophobe. Mobile phones, computers.. All technology is useless on her. Ipods are the only pieces of modern technology that she can work.
Somewhere along the way, Rome broke out of her shell, and she began to run with the 'wrong' crowds at school. The people she hung out with weren't really her friends, but it was them that made her who she is today. Well, at least a part of it.
Rome is impatient, and always needs to be constantly moving. Waiting around really isn't her thing, and she will most always do things that she want, herself. Somewhere along the way, she picked up a knack of being unpredictable, and she's always loved being that.
Being the bitch she is, Rome tends to hate most type of girls, ranging from the prissy saps, to the preppy retards that seem to think that they know it all. Of course, also being the flirt she is, she always welcomes boys, but never stays long enough to commit. As mentioned before, Rome is always on the move, and she's hardly ever patient enough to hang around long enough to form a serious relationship.
Rome has only had a handful of actual friends, but she prefers to be alone; the only trait from her childhood that she's welcomed into her present life. Being alone meant that you didn't depend on anyone. It also meant that you have one less weakness. As her dad left her family before she was even born, and her 'true love' ditching her, Rome has some serious trust issues. Hey, don't blame the victim. *snorts* Yeah, right.
Oh, she also happens to love her guitar, and is very passionate about music, and sometimes, all she wants to do is just sit and play all day. Not to mention, that she's also a chocoholic. Don't judge.
It's true that Rome has a fire power, but she has some icy aspects to her personality. Since childhood, Rome built a wall that severed herself from the outside wall, making her seem distant and cold. All of which built up onto her 'bitch' reputation. The wall is hardly ever let down, and when it's broken into, she always builds it back up. No matter how long it takes.
Rome can be quite witty, and is known to make some pretty sarcastic, bitchy and amusing remarks, when she feels like she's been aggravated. Or just when she's simply annoyed. Or just wants some amusement for the day. However, all funniness aside, she can be easily angered, when she thinks that you've crossed her, or done something that she believes is simply wrong. I'd be careful if i were you. Cross her, and the flames come out to play.

History: Isobel Pandora had been young and foolish. She thought that she was in love. However, the young, Italian teenager simply wanted to have some summer fun.
When Rome's mother, Isobel Pandora became pregnant when she had barely passed 16, the Pandora household had been scorned. Isobel was forced to end her holiday short, and the handsome Italian was never to be seen again. Shamed and embarrassed, Isobel spent the next 9 months hidden away in her mansion, determined to bring up her daughter to be the biggest socialite that anyone had ever seen. When she gave birth to Rome, Isobel was excited to see her daughter had been graced with her father's exotic good looks, combined with a hint of her own typical 'English rose' ones. Isobel had high hopes for daughter.
Fortunately for Rome, those hopes were never met.
From a young age, Rome had was a quiet and timid character, always preferring to stay near the back, rather than be put in the spotlight at the very centre of the show. Angered to see her plan fail so miserably, Isobel pushed her daughter to be the best of the best, but the harder she pushed, the more shy Rome appeared to be. Even as a child, Rome always acted the opposite way as to how people expected her to act.
Realising that her daughter was a hopeless cause, Isobel decided not to care for Rome, and began to treat her rather harshly. Locking her in a tiny room for bad behaviour for nearly 8 hours with no food or water, restricting her from leaving the house, no contact with any technology.. It was as if Isobel wanted her daughter to be a loner. Well, in a way, she did. If Rome wouldn't become a socialite, then she'd become alone; detached from the rest of the world.
But to be honest, Rome didn't really give a shit.
Oh sure, through her punishments Rome developed some sever phobias, became a technophobe, and feared her own mother, but being alone? No. It was the best thing of her damn childhood. Because being alone meant that you trusted nobody. That you didn't have to depend on anyone. What was that saying? The only way to avoid disappointment, is to not have high expectations? Well. Rome didn't have any expectations of anyone, so it was safe to say that she would escape disappointment of any kind.
All throughout her childhood, Rome created an icy wall that protected her from getting hurt, and every time her mother knocked it down, she managed to build it back up, twice as strong. Pretty soon, she learned to ignore the harsh words and the petty comments. The wall that constantly surrounded her took care of that.
When Rome reached into her teenage years and turned a youthful age of 13, she met a guy of 16 called Jack Dean.
He seemed to appear to be interested in her, and her cold, detached ways, and took her under his wing. Rome, only just beginning to learn to flirt and be interested in romance, was delighted. But of course, her icy wall never failed her, and she remained to look uninterested. She started to hang around with Jack and his friends, and slowly, they brought a little fire to her cold personality. It didn't exactly melt the ice and warm her up into a happy, and cheerful person, but it brought fire into her personality, and it made her who she is today.
Her mother, of course, disapproved and called them a bad influence.
Rome called them life savers.
After a year of flirting, teasing and playful abusing, they finally got it on. Rome; at the age of 14, where she was at a less bitchier version of herself, but more or less the same, found herself lying across Jack's bed, involved in an intense make out session with who she thought that she was hopelessly in love with. More open and carefree back then, Rome let Jack take the lead, and when she felt his hand roughly tug on her shorts, she didn't stop him. Because she thought she was ready. Because she thought she loved him.
So she let him.
At the age of 14, she lost her virginity to a guy she hardly knew, but thought she trusted.
After, she curled up to him, happy and content. To her surprise, he brushed her off, and lifted himself out of bed, and started to get dressed. Pulling up his trousers, he threw her a smirk.
"Well? Come on, get dressed and fuck off; i got things to do."
It was at that moment, at that precise moment, Rome realised how much she had let her precious wall break down.
How much she had let herself trust someone other than herself, and became dependant on him she had let herself become. What the consequences were for letting herself break down her wall.
In that same moment, she quickly built back her wall, and let the ice take over.
Quickly throwing on her clothes, she jumped out of bed, and began to walk towards the door, stopping only when she was a few inches away from him. Looking at him up and down, she returned his arrogant smirk.
"You're not as good as i thought you'd be; fucker, you've wasted my time."
And then she laughed.
And that was why she'd never forgive him.
Because he made her feel as if she had to laugh.
Then she walked out, trying not to cry.
She never heard from Jack Dean again.
The next few years, were lived dangerously. Rome had always been addicted to fire, entranced by the beauty of it, and now she always carried around a lighter, and would light it on and off out of habit. Ice and fire still existed in her personality, but there was no warmth in the fire any more, and she was easily angered if you crossed her. The ice was a hard as ever, and the fire either burnt you, or destroyed you. Rome wasn't going to let herself trust anyone, and she certainly wasn't going to trust, or commit. Because really, it just wasn't worth it.
Once she turned 16, Rome left her house, and after taking a large amount of her mothers heritage, she bought herself a nice, modern flat in London, and decided to finish her education there. Her beauty of course, attracted males, and sometimes even her personality attracted strangers who thought her interesting. A few harsh words sent them on their way.
Rome had been walking home, flicking her lighter in one hand, munching on some chocolate in the other, when the storm hit. Before she could even comprehend what was happening, the lightning hit Rome, and she was sent flying into the air, everything turned black. It was as if time was turning slowly, she couldn't understand what was happening. As quickly as it happened, Rome hit the ground on her back, and she lay there for a few seconds, trying to think. She had just been struck by lightning. She was lucky to be alive. Slowly, she stood up. For some reason, she felt really hot. Not uncomfortably hot, but just.. hot. She couldn't really explain it. But Rome felt.. wonderful.
It wasn't long before Rome to realised her power.
It also wasn't long before she learned to control it.
And as always, she did it on her own, not caring that other people were just standing there, watching her burn.
Because she liked the way it hurt.
