BASIC BOARDWIDE RULES
First and Foremost...
All members should be treated with the same basic respect that any human being deserves. When considering respect, stats such as post counts, staff positions or the time spent here are meaningless. Our Forum Staff should be seen as the board's workers, not as the powerful beings with huge amounts of power. They are also human beings. We hope all the members understand this basic principle and respecting the other members, staff, and this forum as a whole.
These rules apply to ALL PARTS of this forum. Some boards on this forum will also have additional rules, which will always be announced in that board. If you’re still feeling unclear about the rules, you can contact the staff or post in the support section.- 1. Respect all members
As stated above, each and every member of the site deserves your respect. Any attempts to put them down, flame them or otherwise make their experience on the site unpleasant IS rule breaking and will be dealt with accordingly. Flaming is a part of this, and can be described as insulting, attacking or offending other members.
- 2. No Trolling, NeoTrolling or Baiting
There shouldn't be any members on the site participating in the activities above. Trolling is going on to the site or cbox and specifically trying to cause trouble and strife. It extends to:- exploiting loopholes in the rules
- trying to undermine staff
- massively criticising how the site is run unnecessarily.
- hacking or threatening to hack
- disrespecting the staff
Neo-Trolling is doing this in a way in which it seems as if you are not doing this, or not attempting to. Baiting can be described as saying something in an attempt to make another member flame you. Each of these activities insights trouble and will be dealt with swiftly and harshly.
- 3. Don't bring us your drama
Do not use the site as an outlet for troubles in your life. We're all very sorry that they're there, but this is a roleplay forum, and as such should not be used simply to vent - especially as it may upset other members. You should be here primarily to Roleplay, not to flaunt your depression.
- 4. No Flooding or Spamming
Posting over and over again with subjects that are neither wanted nor necessary should not be done. This extends to bumping threads that have long since died out for no reason and knocking the already active ones back. If a staff member feels you are posting to the extent of flooding, you will receive a warning.
- 5. Keep your posts at a fine length
You must keep all of your posts around 1000 characters (about 200 words) or more - however this is just a guideline. If staff feel like you could be posting more, or are borderline on the limit, you will be warned about this. Personally, i would prefer if your posts were above 400 words. this would be something to aim for.
- 6. New characters
Once you have fifty posts in your character, you can make a new character if you wish. For this you should make a new account and follow the same steps you did to make your original character. You must request from a staff member whether or not you can make a new character, and they will decide based on whether your post count is above 50, and whether you are active and responsible enough to handle a second character.
- 7. Account Details
You must keep the screenname of your account as the name of your character once you are approved, so it is easy to keep track of who is who. Also remember that signatures should not be more than 300x500px and avatars more than 100x100. Any that are will be removed.
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: FOLLOW THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
the proboards terms and conditions can be found here - and extend to the site. Failure to comply with these will result in immediate banning of the party concerned.
REMEMBER! all these rules should be followed throughout the forum and the chatbox. Failure to do so will result in warnings and eventually being banned from the site.
